A café that is more than a café
Marajaw is built around a simple idea: great coffee and brunch are the excuse, the island and the people on it are the point. Whether you have just landed, are planning a trip to Siargao this season or live down the road, this is the honest version of what you will find.
Where a detail can change, like the menu, we say so.
Where and when
- Where: Tourism Road, directly beside Andok's, Catangnan, General Luna, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. The map pin and directions are on our Visit page.
- Hours: every day, 8am to 5pm. Early enough for a coffee after the morning session, long enough for a late brunch. Any change goes up on the Visit page and on Instagram.
If you are still working out how to reach the island, our guide on how to get to Siargao covers flights, ferries and the ride across to General Luna.
What you will find
Coffee at the heart of it
Specialty coffee is the centre of what we do, with hot and iced options for the heat. The drinks line-up evolves with the season, so rather than list it here and let it go out of date, we keep what is on right now on our menu page, including the milk options of the day. If you want a head start on the vocabulary, our coffee cheat-sheet decodes the usual café menu.
An all-day brunch
The kitchen is built around an all-day brunch: fresh, island-grown where we can, and made to linger over. Dishes change as we go, so the current line-up and prices live on our menu page.
A space to slow down
Marajaw is a relaxed space where you can come barefoot after a surf, sit through a rain shower, or stay for a long catch-up. Come as you are.
Wifi that keeps up
The wifi is free Starlink, and our generator keeps the wifi and customer power outlets running during power cuts, so remote workers and anyone with a call to take can settle in. Speeds vary with conditions; our Visit page has our latest test. For more on working from the island, read our guide to remote work in Siargao.
More than coffee: the gathering place
The idea behind Marajaw is one steady spot where travellers, nomads and locals meet, where plans get made, and where you can ask people who live here where to surf, eat and explore. In practice, that means:
- An island guide at the counter. Ask us about beaches, day trips, the tide or the surf. Our online island guide is the written version.
- Community events. Ideas on the list include coffee cuppings, sunset sessions with live acoustic music, a makers' market for island producers, early coffee for the surf crowd, and beach clean-ups. Confirmed days and times go up on our events page.
- Local first. We want to work with trusted local people and source from the island where we can. We only introduce partners once they are confirmed.
- An open door for ideas. Pop-ups, workshops and gatherings that bring the island together are welcome. Email us if you have one in mind.
Good to know before you come
- Things change. Hours, dishes and drinks can shift with the season. Instagram and our Visit page always have the latest.
- Tell us what you think. Feedback is the most useful thing you can give us. If something is great, or not, tell the team.
- Busy mornings. In surf season, the hour after the morning session can be lively. Come a little later if you want a quiet table.
